Microwave Models
Oil-Water (OW).
The second generation AGAR (OW-200 series) water-cut monitor is the only microwave Watercut meter on the market able to measure hydrocarbon/water mixtures over the full range of 0-100% with an accuracy of +/-1% with varying salinity conditions. The meter measures any liquid-in-liquid concentration levels using a patented microwave measurement technique.

The AGAR OW-201 Watercut monitor measures liquid-in-liquid concentrations using microwave technology. Typical applications include 0-100% hydrocarbon/water measurement, online analysis of alcohol content in beverages, or other organic/ inorganic products.

The OW-201 series is the second generation of microwave based liquid/liquid analyzers from Agar Corporation, which introduced its first 0-100% oil/water monitor to the industry over ten years ago.

The OW-201 utilizes a microwave transmitter operating at 2.45 Gigahertz, and two receivers to measure the bulk electrical properties of the liquids. The difference in dielectric properties of the two liquids is analyzed and translated into volumetric concentrations.

The Agar OW-201 can measure hydrocarbon/water over the full range of 0-100%, regardless of which liquid is the continuous phase. The accuracy of the measurements is not affected by the salinity, density, viscosity, temperature or velocity of the components being analyzed.

The Agar OW-201 is also used in the Agar MPFM 300 and 400 Series multiphase meters to measure 0 to 100% oil in water concentrations in the presence of gas void fractions up to 99.9%.

The OW-201 system consists of the OW-201 sensor, which has integral microwave measurement electronics and the Data Analysis System (DAS). The OW-201 sensor is a flanged spool assembly which houses the microwave transmitting and receiving antennas. The electronics are supplied in an ATEX rated, flameproof enclosure and provide intrinsically safe microwave outputs/inputs to the antennas. The OW-201 sensor is suitable for operation in Zone 1 hazardous areas and has the area classification EEx d ia IIB T4. The DAS can be mounted locally or in close proximity to the sensor. Outputs include Modbus, 4-20 mA and pulses for oil, water and liquid totals.

The OW-202 is an insertion model for large flow lines. A Hi-Temp option is available on the OW-201 for process temps up to 450 °F.
