Multiphase Flowmeters

The AGAR MPFM is a non-nuclear, versatile, three-phase flow meter designed for true field conditions. It provides accurate, real-time measurements of oil, water and gas flows simultaneously without separation of the phases. Specially designed for low maintenance and ease of operation, they require no field calibration or prior knowledge of fluid properties (such as fluid density and salinity) to attain the specified accuracies. The real-time data capabilities of these meters allow for optimization of all types of critical production enhancement techniques.

  • Gas-lift operators use the meter as a diagnostic tool to find problems in the field such as choke manifold and lift valve failures.

The MPFM 400 Series extends the dynamic range of the gas and void fraction capacity of the MPFM 300 Series by using a Fluidic Flow Diverter (FFD®) and gas loop. The solid state FFD® uses the difference in flow momentum of the gas and the liquid to divert most of the free gas in the stream into an ancillary measurement loop around the MPFM 300. The remaining fluids flow through the MPFM 300 Series. The gas in the bypass loop is metered and added to the oil, water and gas measured by the MPFM 300 unit.
